Celebrating with those who are often Forgotten

The Peopleʼs Church is celebrating Christmas with those who are often neglected, marginalised and forgotten during the busiest time of the year. We would like you to join us this season to put a smile on their face.

Prison inmates

We are organising a gift pack that contains essentials for 600 prison inmates who never get visited by their family members or friends. This pack will include a lifebuoy soap, a toothbrush, a toothpaste and a razor. The 600 prisoners are from the 4 main prisons in Colombo. Peopleʼs Church partners with the Colombo Prisoners Welfare Association to serve these people.

Those affected by HIV

Every year Peopleʼs Church organizes a Christmas party for children and adults affected by HIV. They travel from all across the Island accepting our invitation to spend a fun filled day with their families. We provide them with breakfast and lunch which also includes an entire day of fun activities and laughter. We are hoping to raise funds to provide gifts that will include, a school bag for the children, sarees for the ladies and a sarong and shirt for the gents. Our desire is to see them go back with a smile on their face knowing that they too, are loved.

Those who are visually impaired

In collaboration with the Sri Lanka Federation for the Visually Handicapped, Peopleʼs Church organizes a Christmas program for adults and children who are visually impaired. They travel from all across the country to enjoy an entire morning filled with song and dance and tremendous fun, followed by a hearty lunch. We are hoping to give them gifts which will include a school bag for the children, sarong for the gents and a saree for the ladies.
